Education

2004-2007 : PhD in Computer Science, Université Paris-Nord. I passed my PhD in between Machine Learning (LIPN, Université Paris-Nord Villetaneuse), Bioinformatics  (LRI, Université Paris-Sud Orsay) and  Molecular Biology (Institut Curie, Paris).

Research Areas

My areas of research are Machine Learning for Systems Biology. In particular, I am working on the following topics:
  • Considered problems:  constraint-based pattern mining, scalable algorithms for structure inference, classifier fusion
  • Applications: sequence and microarray data analysis, regulation network inference
Current INCa  project (2011-2013) INSIGht Search for new therapeutic targets through the Identification of Networks Specifically altered during tumorIGenesis.  (Institut Curie, iSSB, LIPN)

We will develop an original systems biology approch to inferring local networks from high throughput and heterogeneous datasets (transcriptome, miRNome, methylome, copy number alterations and mutations), combining local networks into signalling pathways and comparing these pathways between two different states (norma and tumor). By combining knowledge of these deregulated networks with the genetic and epigenetic modifications observed in the same data set, we should able to identify new oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes and therapeutic targets associated with pathways specifically altered in tumours. We will apply this strategy to bladder cancer.
