The I3−BioNet Inference/Interrogation “blocks” are part of most systems and synthetic biology projects, but breakthroughs are still being made for each of these blocks. The Implementation module is only at its infancy. Over the last years, we have developed, adapted and gathered an arsenal of methods useful for this mission, ranging from machine learning, evolutionary computation, bioinformatics, and modeling, to visual analysis. Recent breakthroughs in functional and the automation of scientific laboratories make the proposed engineering I3−BioNet cycle exciting and full of promises. This should increase scientific reproducibility and productivity, with benefits to society: better medicines, better food and energy security among all possible applications.

 iSSB is pleased to announce the creation of the spin-off Synovance, founded by two former iSSB researchers.

Congratulations to the iGEM 2017 team "Evry-Paris Saclay" that won a Gold Medal at the final world iGEM jamboree. To follow their work, please visit their wiki.

 The spin-off of iSSB Inovactis, founded by two former mSSB students, won the national competition I-Lab 2017 organized each year by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research to encourage the most innovative technologies.

  Based on publications in synthetic biology, an independent study (Nov 2015) found that iSSB ranks 3rd lab in Europe and 9th in the world, despite a comparatively small size.
