Applications and registration

Entrance qualifications

Applicants may come from Universities or from Ecoles d’ingénieurs.

  • After a first year of master (M1), or an equivalent qualification (4 years of successful higher education after finishing high-school), in either Biology, applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry or Physics.
  • Bi-disciplinary cursus including biology is favoured, but highly-achieving and motivated students in any of the cited disciplines can apply.
  • Excellent English proficiency is required.

Applications

The applications for 2018-2019 academic year are opened.

All students must apply online using the University Paris-Saclay master program application form.

For mSSB, choose:
  • Selected Diploma: Master degree
  • Master Program: Life Sciences and Health / Biologie-Santé
  • Diploma level: M2
  • Program: Systems & Synthetic Biology (SSB)

 

Deadline: July 5, 2018 

Several admission jurys will be organized every 6 to 8 weeks.

Required documents:

  • CV in English or French, including diplomas, dates of obtention, class ranks, marks, languages spoken
  • Motivation letter in English or French (one or two pages)
  • University transcripts from the last 4 years of higher education, and explanations on the grading system of their university.
  • Two recommendation letters or the names of two reference teachers.

 

Be careful, in addition to the University Paris-Saclay application, students from the countries listed below* must absolutely apply also through the CEF procedure (Centre for Studies in France). For this, once an admission approval is received from the University Paris-Saclay, the candidate must create an account on the French portal "Etudes en France" and complete their files from the tab "Je suis accepté" or "I am accepted", by following the procedure indicated here.

Registration

After pedagogic admission, students will receive an official admission e-mail from the University Paris-Saclay containing a link for confirmation of their attendance. Afterwards, the University of Evry will provide more information about the administrative registration procedure.

For 2017/2018 academic year, the registration at the University of Evry took place between July 5 and July 25 then between August 23 and October 27, 2017. For more informations, visit the University of Evry website.

A list of required documents can be found here. Foreign students must note that they have to provide their documents translated in French by a certified translator either at the French Embassy in their country (cheaper) or in France by a translator of the Court of Appeal of Paris.

Registration fees:

  • 2014-2015: 261,10 €
  • 2015-2016: 261,10 €
  • 2016-2017: 261,10 €
  • 2017-2018: 261,10 €

Social security is mandatory in France. The way of affiliation depends on student age and nationality:

  • French and non European Union students under 28 years old: Student Regime of the French Social Security to be payed together with the tuition fees:
    • 2014-2015: 213 €
    • 2015-2016: 215 €
    • 2016-2017: 215 €
    • 2017-2018: 217 €
  • European Union students under 28 years old: European Health Insurance.
  • all students above 28 years old: French Universal Health Care Coverage (CMU).

Congratulations to the iGEM 2017 team "Evry-Paris Saclay" that won a Gold Medal at the final world iGEM jamboree. To follow their work, please visit their wiki.

The spin-off of iSSB Inovactis, founded by two former mSSB students, won the national competition I-Lab 2017 organized each year by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research to encourage the most innovative technologies.
